“Iseya Tokubei the 17th” This name has remained unchanged since my grandfather’s generation.Iseyastarted its business in Azabu Juban, Tokyo in
1600, and continued for 346 years (17 generations) until the end of World War II. The name of the owner of Iseya was “Tokubei”. The owner of
Iseya was called “Tokubei” and was known as “Ise Toku-san” to his patrons. Since I was a child, the name “Ise Toku-san” has been very familiar to me
because of its gentle feeling.
Later, my almost forgotten memory was brought back to me when I saw the name “Tokubei XVIII” engraved on my uncle’s cell phone strap. The
store is now closed, but “Tokubei” is still alive in my uncle’s heart. When my uncle passed away and the name “Tokubei” was on the verge of
disappearing, he came up with the plan to start this land-based aquaculture project.In order to keep this inherited spirit alive, we decided to change
our company name to Ise-Toku.
I’m looking forward to the future with the hope that we can continue to be loved by everyone and continue our history beyond Iseya, taking over the
idea of the beloved “Ise Toku.
